Last month, the DLN Community gathered in Mexico City for a star-studded program representing the best of Mexican architecture, design, art, fashion, and cuisine. We were thrilled to experience three unforgettable days of community, connection, and inspiration with our members, Partners, and friends. Beyond our thought-provoking speakers, deep-dive tours, and festive dinners around the city, it was a joy to see our Community connecting so deeply, from our dedicated day of DLN Forum meetups and breakout discussions to walk-and-talk discussions with new friends and colleagues. This year, our dedicated photography team was able to capture those special moments, and we couldn’t be more excited to share them.

Members and Partners can view and download the professional photos taken during the Summit by following this link. Feel free to post any photos to your social media account, just don't forget to tag us @designleadershipnetwork and our photographer @brendaislas, and use the official #DLNMexicoSummit. Read on for a recap of our time in Mexico City, and thank you again to everyone who made this once-in-a-lifetime experience possible.

THE DESIGN LEADERSHIP AWARD

The Design Leadership Award recognizes a DLN Member who embodies our values of community, collaboration, and support of the design industry, and demonstrates a dedication to doing good through design. On Wednesday, we presented this honor to Jamie Drake, whose peers and friends describe him as “glamorous,” “legendary,” “wildly talented,” and “one of the most generous people" in the design industry. See what Janice Parker, Mike Bloomberg, Corey Damen Jenkins, Amy Astley, Caleb Clinton Anderson, and Amy Freitag have to say about Jamie in our tribute video, and join us in congratulating him on this well-deserved award!

SUMMIT TALKS

Luminaries of design, hospitality, art, fashion, and food took the stage in CDMX to share deep insights into Mexico's creative renaissance and what makes working there so special. We are thrilled to announce that these sessions will be available to Members by video in the coming weeks; in the meantime, read about our programming here.

BEHIND-THE-SCENES TOURS

Our community traversed the city and beyond to take in some of Mexico City's most important — and beautiful — sites, from Luis Barragán-designed homes to pre-Columbian castles, contemporary art studios, and more. Click here to see what Members have shared.

DLF SPOTLIGHT

Elvis Scott and Tyler Rutland took the stage in CDMX to talk about the Design Leadership Foundation's Professional Horizons Summer Work Experience, which saw them interning for Voith and Mactavish Architects and Pappas Miron Design, respectively.
